The moment you leave the Bangkok International Airport, you’ll see how huge and diverse Bangkok in reality is. There is nothing like one best hotel, not even 10 best hotels in Bangkok. The accommodation in the capital of Thailand is so divers that if you are looking for a place with a garden and boho touch, landing in “the best” 5-star hotel will be a horrible experience for you. Therefore, before asking what are the best places to stay in Bangkok, ask yourself what are you really looking for. Do you value quiet places? Luxury? Do you want to be close to locals or to fancy and rich neighborhoods? Do you want a swimming pool with a panorama view of Bangkok or a small place with a wild looking garden? If you are travelling with kids, what do they expect, what kind of amenities do you need for your kids? How kids-friendly is the hotel? Here it is advisable to look through reviews to find out how kids-friendly the hotel and staff really is (we will cover this subject in our recommendations). The moment you decide on this, think about the neighborhood. And finally, how much do you want to spend for it.
After deciding on all of it, you can start looking for your perfect accommodation. We planned to stay in Bangkok twice during our trip. A few days after arriving to Thailand and two nights before leaving. For our first location we chose the area close to the famous Khao San Road and within a short drive to the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and Wat Pho with the Reclining Buddha. On the way back we wanted to stay in a fancy hotel with a panorama view of Bangkok, the Chatrium Hotel Riverside. Unfortunately, due to the change of plans, we had to re-book our second accommodation in Bangkok. We decided to stay one last night somewhere close to the airport.
The places we checked and truly recommend are:
Time Sabai 134 ,perfect location for sightseeing. More about Time Sabai 134 you’ll find here:
and
At Residence Suvarnabhumi, an ideal place to rest in amazing surroundings between flights.
Chatrium Hotel Riverside, luxurious 5-star hotel at the East Bank of the Chao Phraya River. From our research this was the best luxurious hotel at reasonable price with high altitude rooms for a beautiful skyline-view. Unfortunately, due to change of plans we did not stay here in the end and can not give you a review. But if we will come back to Bangkok, we will pick this hotel for sure.
