Best Beaches in Cuba
One of the reasons (and there are thousands of them) why we love Cuba is because no matter in which point of the island you are there are not more than 100 km to some beach. And this is the luxury not many countries have. If you ask people, what beaches they know in Cuba, majority of them would say Varadero. Oh, this hurts! For real! So before we tell you about the best beaches in Cuba, let us start with explaining why Varadero is not one of them.
Why not Varadero
When we were planning our trip to Cuba, we consciously excluded Varadero from the places we would visit. Why? Because, although it is located on a beautiful peninsula, it is as well the largest resort in the Caribbean, read: tourists, tourists, and more tourists. And if the only thing you have are tourists, be sure that everything you see around will be a huge fake. Cuba is not a 5 star hotel with mojitos served on a silver tray. Cuba is something totally different. But if you are a fan of swimming pools and fake luxury cut out from local reality, well that’s a perfect place for you. But please, don’t tell anyone you have been to Cuba, or even worse, that you know anything about Cuba. You’ve been to Varadero, it’s the same like you’ve been to Mars.
